COVER SONGS, YES.... BUT "COVER COVERS?"

We're all familiar with "cover songs," or remakes of songs recorded previously by another artist. But sometimes classic vinyl album covers are "covered" too -- out of affection and admiration.

Here are just a few "cover covers"....do you have any favorites to share?

Original Classic 1967 Who LP                                2005 Tribute by Petra Haden

The Beatles' "Abbey Road" Cover                       Memphis Remake: Booker T & MGs

Sonny Rollins Original (One of Dozens               A Homage By Joe Jackson
Of Iconic Blue Note Jazz Album Covers)

Frank Zappa's "We're Only In It For The Money" Wasn't a Beatles Homage, But a Satire

  1. Also the Clash's "London Calling," and Elvis Presley's 1956 album, "Elvis."
